Digital Data Destruction Services (D3) today announced that it was granted a General Services Administration (GSA) contract for the secure destruction and 100% Green recycling of electronic media.
Listen to interview with
Roger Hutchison,
President and CEO
D3 Services, Inc.
The GSA contract, GS-10F-0137U under Schedule 899-5, immediately opens the door for rapid expansion of the Company into other major cities across America. The Company offers the only commercially available ISO 9002 compliant destruction process for hard drives, tapes, flash, and optical media using equipment evaluated by the Department of Defense and in use for the destruction of classified data. The quality control procedures, the high security equipment and personnel, the fact that all by-products are recycled, and now the Government certification all give D3 a unique position in this growing eWaste niche.
The services now offered by D3 in Wisconsin and Minnesota will soon be available in southern California, Texas, Massachusetts and Colorado, as well as a new service in the Washington DC region. This GSA contract addresses the rapidly growing need to comply with the digital data destruction requirements of HIPAA, Gramm-Leach-Bliley, FACTA and Sarbanes-Oxley Federal legislation. The green recycling of the electronic media by-products makes D3 the only Company in the United States to also comply fully with the existing eWaste legislation passed in five states and soon to be the industry norm across all the United States.
Dr. Roger Hutchison, President and CEO of D3, said of this GSA Contract award “It is highly likely that a company’s end-of-life protocol to destroy electronic media uses an obsolete paper shredding paradigm.Simple shredding of electronic media is both an unsafe business practice, and it carries a carbon-cost passed on to future generations. D3 is on the leading edge of pioneering the Nation’s first truly auditable destruction of the digital content on media, and then providing the green recycling for all the remaining by-products.We have a secure destruction process for the digital content on the media, and 100% Green solution for the eWastes. The award of a GSA Schedule 899-5 contract to D3 is a strong indication of the direction public policy in the United States is headed.”
D3 is a Wisconsin C Corporation formed in 2004 to offer high end digital data destruction equipment and services with an earth friendly disposition of the by-products.
